The studies just keep coming in
and piling up on all the ways that Omega-3 fish oils

A study by Dr. Joseph Hibbeln of the United States’
National Institute of Health and funded by Britain’s Medical
Research Council showed that women who eat seafood while
pregnant may be boosting their children’s IQ in the process.
Researchers examined issues including the children’s social
and communication skills, their hand-eye coordination and
their IQ levels. Results showed that those who ate two or
three servings a week had smarter children with better
developmental skills. Children whose mothers ate no seafood
were 48 percent more likely to have a low verbal IQ score,
compared to children whose mothers ate high amounts of
seafood.

A study by researchers at the University of Western
Australia confirms that mothers taking fish oil supplements
benefit kids’ brains too! The children of mothers who had
taken fish oil supplements displayed significantly better
hand-eye coordination, scored higher on tests for vocabulary
and language comprehension, and had longer phrases in their
speech.

Another Australian study at the University of South
Australia looked at combining fish oil supplements with
moderate exercise and found that Omega-3 supplements helped
participants in the study lose weight – all without dieting!
They believe that the omega-3 fatty acids increased the
elasticity of blood vessel walls and improved the flow of
blood to muscles during exercise, thus making exercise more
effective according to Professor Peter Howe.
